This years gala fundraiser will include a musical remounting of kids time travel themed plays and a world premiere time travel themed play by acclaimed playwright Erik Ehn, head of the playwriting program at Brown University. The production will be directed by beloved Trinity actor Joe Wilson Jr., and star some of Providences best and brightest performers. The plays will also include performances by MAP kids!
We are thrilled to present our 2013 Gala - MAP TO THE FUTURE. We are remounting plays that are brilliant examples of Olneyville kids expressing their amazing imaginations on the public stage with incredible adult artists supporting them, and were adding a musical twist with the fantastic compositions of David Tessier, says Artistic Director Meg Sullivan. We are so excited to have the wonderful playwright Erik Ehn as our special guest playwright for the evening, and to be able to host the event at Fete Music, in the heart of Olneyville, the community where we work. What a wonderful way to celebrate our past and future as an organization!
In addition to the musical production, the evenings activities will include a raffle, a time machine experience, auction, and a volunteer appreciation award presentation to MAPs costume designer Paula Correia.
Event is June 3, 2013 at Fete Music Hall, 103 Dike Street, Providence RI. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are $60 at the door, $50 on-line. Tickets will be available on Brown Paper Tickets.
