We are thrilled to celebrate Iced Coffee season with the return of Iced Coffee Day to benefit Hasbro Childrens Hospital, said Joe Prazeres, Dunkin Donuts franchisee. Thanks to our loyal and generous guests, this annual promotion has generated nearly $475,000 for the organization, and we are excited to continue to raise money for a wonderful cause.
Since the inception of this annual fundraiser in 2010, Dunkin Donuts franchisees have raised $474,678 to benefit Hasbro Childrens Hospital. The funds have resulted in tangible improvements to the facility, including the creation and production of activity books for patients and a new play area in the pediatric ambulatory clinic. In 2013, the 6th Floor family room will be renovated, thanks to the funds raised in 2012.
Many families with children being treated at Hasbro Childrens Hospital stay at the hospital round-the-clock for days, weeks or even months, said Robert B. Klein, M.D., pediatrician-in-chief of Hasbro Childrens Hospital. We are grateful to Dunkin Donuts for giving us the opportunity to create a warm and comfortable space that is a home away from home for those families going through the stresses and anxieties of their childs hospital stay.
The mission of Dunkin Donuts charitable foundation, DDBRCF is to serve its neighborhoods by taking care of their basic needs - safety, hunger relief and children's health. Dunkin Donuts has been at the forefront in developing an innovative process for brewing iced coffee, which has set the standard for the industry. The unique process, called double brewing, uses twice the amount of coffee when making the beverage to achieve consistent flavor and freshness which is never compromised at the expense of serving it cold. The result is a smooth, rich taste sensation--iced coffee that is never bitter or watered down.
