The new tile memorial, collaboratively designed and created by Providence artists Nicole Cooney and Kyle Armstrong and installed by artist Deborah Demarco, was commissioned by RICJ to honor the request of local family members that their loved ones be named at the Wall of Hope. The memorial, called The Never Forgotten of Rhode Island, is in remembrance of:
David and Lynn Angell - Carol Marie Bouchard - Mark Charette - Lynn Catherine Goodchild - Michael Gould - James E. Hayden - Amy Nicole Jarret - Kathryn Yancey LaBorie - Shawn Nassaney - Renee Tetreault Newell - Frank G. Schott Jr.
The RI Wall of Hope, a mosaic of tiles painted by over 11,000 Rhode Islanders in the year after 9/11/01, stands as an expression of 11,000 individual commitments to building a peaceful world, with mutual respect, understanding and unity.
The brief dedication ceremony will begin at 6:00pm. For information contact Toby Ayers at Rhode Island for Community & Justice, 467-1717 ext. 100 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
