PROVIDENCE, RI - In the season of giving, the Prince Hall
Masons of Rhode Island welcomes children and their families at their annual
Holiday party on Sunday, December 23, 1-3 p.m. at the Masonic Temple located at
581 Eddy Street in Providence.
Following a month long Toy Drive that included a generous
donation from the Marines’ “Toys For Tots” and the Grand Lodge members will
provide unwrapped toys including Bikes, board games, action figures and dolls
for children ages 3-15, to choose.
Children are required to be accompanied by their parents.
Guests will be treated to holiday music, games and refreshments provided by the
Members of Prince Hall Masons and the Order of the Eastern Star.
In 2018, the
fraternal organization distributed more tthan $2,500 worth of toys to community
groups serving Washington Park and Upper South Providence.
The second oldest Prince Hall Masons Lodge In the United States toy drive
success is due to support from the Eastern Stars and Marines’ Toys for Tots.
“Of the many events we sponsor, this is one that is the most meaningful and we
look forward to it every year” says Grand Master, Prince Reid. The holidays are
a time to reflect on our blessings and to give back to those in need.
Established in 1775, the Prince Hall Masons is the oldest continuous Black
organization in the United States.
