99th anniversary celebration to include keynote address from attorney Kas DeCarvalho, President of RI Thurgood Marshall Law Society

  • THE CRITICAL FIGHT TO PRESERVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE TAKES CENTER STAGE AT NAACP FREEDOM FUND EVENT

    March 26, 2012, Providence, RI  Stand for Freedom: Voting is a Human Right is the theme of the 99th anniversary Freedom Fund Breakfast sponsored by the NAACP Providence Branch. We invite you to join the leadership team, members, and friends of NAACP Providence Branch on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 9:30am at the Marriott Hotel, One Orms Street.

    The keynote speaker will be Attorney Kas DeCarvalho, President of the RI Thurgood Marshall Law Society. In addition, the newly elected 2012-2013 NAACP Providence Youth Council Executive Committee, the largest of its kind in New England, will be inducted into during the celebration.

    This years theme, Stand for Freedom: Voting is a Human Right reflects the urgent mission of the NAACP to vigorously promote voting and to fight proposed laws throughout the country that threaten the rights of thousands of eligible voters.

    Ticket Price is $30.00 per person in advance and $35.00 at the door. Space is limited so we encourage advance purchase of tickets. Tickets may be purchased online at www.naacpprov.org or mail checks payable to NAACP Providence Branch to P. O. Box 5767, Providence RI 02903.

    The NAACP founded in 1909 is the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization. From the ballot box to the classroom, the thousands of dedicated workers, organizers, leaders and members who make up the NAACP continue to fight for social justice for all Americans. NAACP mission is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.
