Tashas work-ethic, commitment and genuine care for the community is deserving of an accolade of this magnitude.
Presented by Ledge Light Health District, the Minority Health Summit also featured keynote speaker Rev. Kenn Harris, Program Director for the Healthy Start Program at The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and Co-chair of the African American Health Council of Southeastern Connecticut.
April is designated Minority Health Month by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health. The theme presented for 2012 is Health Equity Cant Wait. Act Now in Your CommUNITY! This call to action is for state and local offices of minority health, health departments, community organizations and individuals across the country to be involved in activities with a focus on reducing health disparities.
