MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
Must be 18 years of age
Must possess a valid drivers license
High School Diploma or possess General Education Diploma (GED)

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND DEADLINES
Applicant must possess a current RI Firefighter Physical Performance Assessment (PPA) Certification issued by RI Association of Fire Chiefs and provide a copy to Human Resources by October 30, 2013 to be eligible for the written exam.

Top candidates that pass the written exam will be required to climb a 100 foot Aerial Ladder and pass a swim test (Tentative Date: Saturday, November 23, 2013).

Applicant must possess a valid Rhode Island or national Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMTB) Certification and provide a copy to Human Resources by December 9, 2013 to be eligible for the oral exam.

Candidates for this classification must be able to meet established educational, physical and medical requirements. Trainees must pass all City Fire Academy curriculum and obtain all necessary certifications and/or licenses by specified deadlines as required by the Fire Department for graduation from the Academy.

Applicants will be subject to a NON-REFUNDABLE $50.00 Application Fee (cash, exact amount only, or money order made payable to CITY OF EAST PROVIDENCE).

Application packets can be picked up at the City of East Providence, City Hall, Human Resources Department, 145 Taunton Avenue, 3rd Floor, East Providence, RI 02914. Completed applications must be submitted BY THE APPLICANT IN PERSON to Human Resources only by the application deadline to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
