EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

Position Summary: Reporting to the President & CEO, this is a hands-on senior level leadership position responsible for developing and executing the organizations communications strategy and managing the Strategic Marketing & Communications Department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
" As a member of UWRIs senior team, proactively participate in meetings and provide personal perspective on current and emerging opportunities and challenges that are and/or will impact UWRIs ability to meet its goals.
" Advise the President & CEO on all matters related to UWRI brand /marketing/communications.
" Work proactively and collaboratively with internal departments to ensure clear and concise communications that support the organizations goals.
" Develop and implement a communications plan in support of the organizational strategic plan and operational objectives.
" Create content for brochures, annual reports, speeches, presentations, news releases, and other internal and external communications activities including advertisements for print (e.g., newspapers, magazines) and electronic communications (e.g., radio, Web, social media) channels.
" Management of all departmental functions, including creative services (design), earned media, electronic media (websites, Constant Contact, social media), paid media (advertising), compliance with United Way Worldwide brand guidelines, printed collateral materials, presentations, public speaking opportunities, sponsorships, videos, volunteer recruitment and project management.
" Increase awareness and positive perceptions of UWRIs brand and associate UWRI with the impact we create.
" Participate in annual budget planning and development process, including developing departmental budget, providing support to President & CEO and CFO to develop presentation of proposed budget to UWRIs Board of Directors.
" Educate UWRI stakeholders on the communications strategy to increase their knowledge of our work and achievements and assure their ability to advocate on our behalf in the community in a consistent way.
" Act as public spokesperson when required.

Experience/Qualifications:
" Bachelors Degree
" 5-10 years prior work experience
" Knowledge of and experience in field of communications and marketing required
" Strong project management skills
" Management, strategic planning, communication (written and verbal) and relationship-building skills
" Highly organized and able to work hands-on in a fast-paced, team environment.
" Flexibility, adaptability and solid time management skills are critical to this position.
" Knowledge of media/public relations, market research, advertising, branding, electronic and printed collateral materials, visual presentations and videos a must.
